The gift shop escape route
To escape the Terrible Lizards gift shop, collect the three basement fuses, repair the pillar fuse boxes, reconnect the power above the pillars, then activate the floodlights. Approach the exit to the right of the office afterward, and turn back toward the basement when Bronto destroys your way out.
Enter the office and unlock the basement
Your destination is the office in the far right corner of the open gift shop area. The VHS player inside advances the story, and the conversation with Stella sends you after the replacement fuses. Finish this sequence before heading back across the shop floor.
- Cross to the far side of the gift shop and enter the office in the far right corner.
- Play the VHS tape inside the office to advance the story.
- Finish the conversation with Stella to receive the instructions for restoring the floodlights.
- Follow the route right from the office, then left at the end, to reach the basement entrance.

Find the basement fuses
Use your flashlight to search the basement work area. All three required fuses are down here, so collect them before returning upstairs. Use the bottom of the stairs as your starting point for the following directions.
- Pick up the first fuse straight ahead when you reach the bottom of the basement stairs.
- Search farther back and slightly to the left of the first pickup to collect the second fuse.
- Turn left again from that area to find and collect the final basement fuse.
Repair the pillar boxes while avoiding the mascot
Back upstairs, the mascot begins following you while you work on the fuse boxes. Circle the counters to create distance before starting a repair, rather than stopping with it close behind you. Each box needs its timing repair completed before you move on.
- Install a basement fuse in the box on the pillar near the office, completing the timing repair to restore that connection.
- Repair the fuse box on the pillar near the toy section after opening a gap between yourself and the mascot.
- Repair the fuse box on the pillar near the arcade to finish installing the basement fuses.
Reconnect the power above the pillars
Installing the fuses does not finish the floodlight sequence. The next part takes you through the arcade vent and onto the elevated route above the shop. Your targets are the separate power connections above the same pillars you repaired below.
- Follow the arcade's interior straight ahead, then left at the end, to find the vent.
- Crawl through the arcade vent to access the elevated route toward the pillar connections.
- Cross the platforms above the shop to reach the power connections over the repaired pillars.
- Reconnect the upper power plugs above all three pillars to complete this part of the restoration.
- Use the vent near the end of the elevated route to return to the office for the floodlight stage.
Activate the floodlights and escape Bronto
You now need to revisit the repaired boxes and operate the floodlight switches while Bronto roams the shop floor. Wait for a clear approach before committing to each interaction. Favor walking between objectives here instead of sprinting constantly, then be ready to run when the exit is destroyed.
- Activate the floodlight switch at the pillar near the office when the approach is clear.
- Activate the floodlight switch at the toy-section pillar when you have room to reach it.
- Activate the floodlight switch at the arcade pillar to finish powering the gift shop lights.
- Approach the exit to the right of the office after powering the lights; Bronto will destroy this way out.
- Turn around immediately when the exit is destroyed and run straight ahead to follow the escape route.
- Follow the platforms deeper into the basement until you reach the caverns, completing the chapter.
Instant deaths and a closed exit after respawning
- Why do I instantly die at the gift-shop shaft after installing the fuses, and why is the exit closed when I respawn?
- Other players have reported this gift-shop progression bug, including on PS5. Check for patch 1.0.9, which fixes some instant-death and loading issues, although its notes do not identify a fix for this exact problem. If you remain trapped after updating, report the continuing softlock through the game's support channels.
